Bibhash is a fund manager, investor, company builder and board member. Currently he is building an unique sector-specialized fund to invest exclusively in biotech companies with a fundamental, bottom-up, absolute-return strategy. Previously, he was a co-founder and Managing Partner of Sound Bioventures, a trans-Atlantic venture fund, and prior to that an investor with the biotech practice of NEA, a large, diversified venture fund. Prior to becoming an investor, he acquired operating experience in business development, portfolio management and corporate strategy functions at AstraZeneca and Johnson & Johnson. He has led multiple investments and had Board Director roles at private and public companies in the US and Europe, and has played pivotal roles in multiple major in-licensing, divestiture and acquisitions and cross-border (Europe / US) deals. He serves on the Board of a healthcare delivery non-profit, has had advisory roles in various companies ranging from venture studios to healthcare payment start-up. His education spans 3 continents culminating with a PhD from Baylor College of Medicine.
